Pakistan and Iran should exchange business and cultural delegations for strengthening ties in all sectors, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Culture Mian Iftikhar Hussain said on Thursday.
In his meeting with Iran Consul General Hassan Darwesh Wand at the Iran Consulate, it was agreed that Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan should establish close links with each other. Besides, it was also decided that films in local languages of both countries should be made so that the new generation can stay aware with cultural and traditional values of both countries.
Referring to the strong and deep-rooted religious and cultural ties between the two countries, the information minister said cultural heritage of both countries will be preserved for the future generation. Furthermore, he said the provincial government now has the power to form agreements with foreign countries, while extension of relations with Iran in all sectors is desired. Mian Iftikhar maintained that he has always talked against oppression and injustice, adding that the Pakhtuns are peace-lovers and hated terrorism. Lauding the provincial government’s efforts to curb terrorism, the Iran consul general said Mian Iftikhar is an asset of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and his courageous role in the war against terror is commendable for the whole world.
