The European Union (EU) has provided 42 million euros to the provincial Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) for the implementation of National Skills Strategy (NSS) 2009-2013. The EU delegation head, Lars-Gunnar Wigemark, and GIZ Country Director Pakistan, Thomas Schaef, signed the agreement here on Wednesday. After the signing ceremony, EU Ambassador Lars-Gunnar Wigemark said the EU and two of its member states, Netherlands and Germany, would provide financial assistance for technical education to promote availability of skilled manpower in the market. The programme would help Pakistan increase technical and vocational education to open new opportunities for youth from poor families, women and the people living in disaster and conflict-affected areas, he added.
THIS IS A GOOD EFFORT TO PROMOTE TECHNICAL AND VOCATIONAL TRAININGS AT PAKISTAN.
