Doctors mint money at the cost of poor

The doctors at the hospitals in the provincial capital are making a mockery of their profession and responsibilities, as they are fleecing the poor patients with both hands by asking to them to visit their private clinics. That is why they do not bother to examine patients properly in the government hospitals.
The hospitals in the provincial capital have become more or less slaughter houses for the poor who are coming from far-flung areas.
Besides the government-run Leady Reading Hospital (LRH) and Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH), there are number of private hospitals and clinics established with a sole aim to mint money. The poor patients remain languishing in the government hospitals with no one paying attention to even ensure basic services and facilities, like hygiene. The doctors in the abovementioned top government hospitals are allotting the private rooms to their kith and kin while the ordinary people staying to attend the patients spend the night in the open sky.
The attitude of the doctors and nurses is crude and they terrify the patients to a level that they cannot ask for any thing. Some the nurses and assistant staff demand money when the family members want to meet or send daily use items and food to their patients.
The poor patients are also deprived of free medicines and they have to buy everything from the market. Furthermore, the laboratories are also not functioning and the administration does not have any interest to repair them because the patients are forced to consult the private establishments for tests and diagnosis purposes.
The doctors have even deployed agents in various areas to hunt patients for them. The practice is common in Awqaf Plaza, Madina Colony and Dabgri Garden where the average fee range from Rs 600 to Rs 1200 which is not affordable for the commoners.
Most of the medicines available at the private stores are fake or poor in quality. But despite the fact that the doctors have complete knowledge of the serious threat to humans, they do not point out such outlets as they are receiving commission and sending the patients to these stores where the owner not only fleece them but also endanger their health. There are numbers of blood donation organisation in the provincial capital but they collect blood while under the pretext of serving the common people but the donations are ultimately end up in the open market for those who have the money.
