NHMP claims arresting nine criminals

The National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP) N-5 Central on Wednesday claimed to have arrested nine criminals after foiling two attempts of dacoity in passenger buses, recovering two snatched vehicles, seizing arms and ammunition besides reuniting three children with their families during the last couple of days.
According to details, NHMP N-5 Central foiled an attempt of dacoity in a DG Khan to Lahore bound non-AC passenger bus near Khanewal and arrested four criminals including Zafar Iqbal, Munawar, Abbas and Ghulam Ali. Two loaded pistols and four magazines were also recovered from their possession. Another attempt of dacoity was also foiled in a Lahore to Multan bound bus and two criminals, including Tayyab and Shahzad, who intoxicated the driver of the bus, were also arrested.
A snatched APV Van bearing registration number LEF-3354 and a Toyota Corolla GLI, LEA-1357 bearing fictitious registration number ICT-351 were recovered by prompt action of the NHMP. Separately, NHMP officers helped 11-year-old Farooq, 12-year-old Shahzad and 9-year-old Shaukat to reunite with their aggrieved families. NHMP Inspector General (IG) Zafarullah Khan appreciated efforts of the patrolling officers and awarded commendation certificates to them.
