On instructions of the Punjab chief minister, the health department has decided to immediately fill vacancies of doctors, nurses and paramedics in all public-sector hospitals of the province to further improve efficiency of district and tehsil hospitals and strengthen primary and secondary healthcare system, Punjab Health Secretary Jahanzeb Khan said on Tuesday.
He said that walk-in interviews will be held on the first and third Thursday of every month at the district-level for recruitment against posts of specialist doctors, medical officers, women health officers, nurses and lady health visitors (LHV) in district headquarters, tehsil headquarter hospitals and rural health centres. The spokesman of the health department has asked doctors, nurses, LHVs and paramedics desirous of serving in the health department to contact the nearest EDO Health office for this purpose.
The detail of vacancies is available at the health department website while a helpline has also been set up for guidance of candidates.
