The enforcement of Commissionerate System in the province of Sindh through ordinance has been challenged in the Supreme Court of Pakistan here on Wednesday.
Molvi Iqbal Hyder in his petition filed in the Supreme Court against the commissionerate system has made the federation through federal law ministry, Acting Sindh Governor, provincial chief secretary and secretary local bodies respondents. It observed that the Acting Governor while issuing the Sindh Local Ordinance restored the 1979 Ordinance and suspended the Local Ordinance 2001 which is illegal an unconstitutional under the articles 270, 264, 261, 175(3), 140-A of the constitution of Pakistan.
It is prayed in the petition that the enforcement of commissionerate system be suspended immediately.
