Amid growing terrorist attacks and a rash of crime in the capital, the police on Tuesday put security on high alert across the city. The capital police set up dozens of additional pickets on roads while snap checks were also done. The police checked vehicles entering Sector F-8 Markaz where offices of police, the Islamabad Capital Terroritory (ICT) administration and district courts are located.
A source told Pakistan Today that Inspector General of Police IGP Bin Yameen has directed senior police officials to put security on high alert in the city. Security of all sensitive buildings in the city has been put on high alert and a large number of police officials have been deployed on roads leading to Red Zone.
He said that the number of police constables deployed at major markets has also been increased and they have been directed to keep a vigilant eye on suspicious people and vehicles. Police officials deployed at the city’s entry and exits points conducted strict vehicle checks all day.
