Rawalpindi to have 70-kilometer ring road

On the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif, a 70 kilometers long ring road would be constructed in Rawalpindi. The feasibility report of the project has also approved by Chief Minister Punjab.
In a statement, RDA Director General Makeen Shahbaz said that the Rawalpindi would also have an economic zone. The construction of ring road and economic zone would cost Rs. 70 billion. In order to ensure smooth flow of traffic in Rawalpindi, a 70-kilometer long ring road from Rawat to Fateh Jhang airport would be constructed, he said. The ring road would also have a dozen interchanges.
