Paramedics go on strike after civil hospital attacked

Doctors and paramedics at Civil Hospital Sanghar observed a complete boycott on Monday to protest against the torture of doctors and paramedics by unidentified armed men.
The town police said a person identified as Khan Mari was brought to the hospital after being severely injured during a clash between Mari and Nizamani tribes in Sanghar early morning. During treatment, a group belonging to the Mari tribe suddenly attacked the doctors and the paramedics of the emergency ward and severely beat them up.
They also damaged the furniture, window panes and other equipment of the hospital. The attackers had locked different wards of hospital including the emergency ward and as a result, hundreds of indoor and outdoor patients had to face severe hardships.
Sanghar DPO Abdullah Sheikh along with district administration reached the hospital but the staff locked the wards and observed a protest demonstration. However, after negotiations and on assurance of the district administration for providing protection, the strike was called off.
