The Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations in Lahore region remained closed on Monday causing problems for the users. The gas would be shutdown in Lahore, Sheikhpura, Okara and Sahiwal till Wednesday afternoon The All-Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) said strikes will be observed if Petroleum Minister Dr Asim Hussain does not keep his promises.
APCNGA Supreme Council Chairman Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha sought the review of gas prices and shutdown per the promise made by the minister in the July 4 meeting.
“The minister had promised that the CNG prices will be announced keeping in view 40 percent saving to CNG vehicle owners in comparison to petrol prices,” Paracha said, adding that the association was waiting for his return from London. “We believe that Dr Asim will call us for negotiations otherwise we will observe strikes,” he added.
