Eight people, including a woman, were killed and two others injured in separate incidents of firing in various areas of Balochistan on Sunday. Per details, three people on two motorbikes were returning to the city from Qambrani Road in the outskirts of Quetta when armed assailants opened fire on them. Two of them were killed on the spot, while the third succumbed to his injuries later.
Police official Amir Khan Dasti said two of the victims belonged to the Hazara Shia community, while the third was a Sunni Muslim. He said the incident did not appear an act of sectarian killing, however, police was investigating to ascertain the real motive behind the killing. The deceased were identified as Ashique Hussain Hazara, a clerk working in the central police office, Amjid Ali Hazara and Abdul Qayyum, a retired police constable.
In another incident, a group of armed men on two motorbikes intercepted a passenger wagon and pulled down three passengers belonging to the Langov tribe.The assailants opened fire on the three after lining them up along the vehicle. They were identified as Fazalur Rehman, Abdul Qayyum and Muhammad Hassan.The reason behind the killing is believed to be some tribal dispute.In another incident, a man named Allah Dita of Goth Gharibabad area of Usta Muhammad killed his daughter and her alleged paramour Bashir Ahmad for honour.
Meanwhile, one Mohammad Din was on his way home with his daughter Madina Bibi when his motorbike it a landmine in the border area of Chaman. They were moved to a hospital for treatment.
