Another six people were gunned down in Karachi on Sunday as the MQM accused the Sindh government of deliberately disconnecting all telephone connections of party headquarters Nine Zero and alleged that Sindh Senior Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza had planned an attack on Nine Zero during a meeting with MQM-Haqiqi leader Afaq Ahmed in Karachi Jail. However, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah denied the allegations.
The present violent situation in Karachi is reminiscent of the linguistic clashes of 1986, and Pakistan Today learnt that Urdu-speaking population of Orangi Town, the worst-affected area in the recent violence, on Sunday stood up to demand a separate mohajir province. Riots erupted again in Aligarh, Muslimabad and Gabol Town, parts of Orangi Town and Zarina Colony, New Karachi Sector 5 A-4 over the demand of a separate province. The people of Orangi Town also proposed a name for the separate province as “Mohajir Province”.
Later at night, wall chalking touting the separation demand was also put up along the city’s major roads. PPP Karachi President Najmi Alam said the party would oppose the demand for a separate province. Orangi reopened for routine activity after five days of bloodshed, but the entire area shut down a few hours following the clashes between Pashtun and the Urdu-speaking population.
The paramilitary troops present in the area appeared not to have noticed any anomaly as they did nothing to restore order. Following the clashes, the Urdu-speaking women of Aligarh and Qasba Colony took to the streets and staged a protest demonstration against the failure of law enforcement agencies to restore peace in the area. With the six more targeted killings on Sunday, the death toll in six days of violence in Karachi climbed to 104.
Resignations accept: In a late night press conference, MQM leaders led by Anis Qaimkhani urged the PPP not to push the party to the wall, asking it to accept the resignations of the MQM ministers and “let the party go its way”. He also warned that the situation might go out of control if the PPP did not stop inciting MQM workers.

  1. MQM is a ';dehsad gard ',more terrorist, extremist, billion of dollars bathakhor, target killing militant outfit. far more dangerous than than Talibans. They with few lakh Karachi based vote bank want to rule Pakistan through threats, coercion, blackmailing,'munafakat, qatlogharat, mukaprsti.fully aided, conjoined, abetted by Karachi based TV channels, their TV anchors, newscaster who denigrade every party or person who does not bow to their evil designs. The real culprits are ARY,Dr Danish,Badami,GEO(partly),EXpress,CNBC-Mujahid Brelvi,,Samaa-Asma Shirazi,jASMEENN,AAJ,dUNYA-lUQMAN,newsone and few other in Lahore either terrorised by death threats of mqm OR Paid.I would request government to ban thesecchannels and anchors etc who by their poisionous comments in talk show have ruined the peace of Pakistan and ruined poor for supporting the most corrupt rulers on world since MQM was its its partners for 45 months.I would request Nawaz SHARIF NOT TO POLLUTE POLITICS OF PUNJAB AND PAKISTAN BY PROTECTING THIS PARTY WHICH BELIEVES THAT IF MQM does not rule even in coalition-than Pakistan is no more after Zardari showed them the door.MR Zardari should ban above TV channmels and abchors and ban live speeches of Altaf HUSSEIN FROM lONDON.dOES HE PAY IF NOT WHY IN LAST THREE YEARS OR RECOVER EVERY PENNY OF LIVE TV telecasts.

  2. MR Zardairi is personally responsible for making MQM still worse killing ,BLN$$ blackmailing bathakhor monster than by Musharraf to consolidate his power. Now after MLQ joined his bandwagon, he used them like any tissue paper makjing MQM mad. However,he did well to cut them to their size of .00%% vote bank dictating, blackmailing Pakistani politics. To silence the urban killing terrorists,it would be imperative for Zardari as your earlier comment suggested to to ban TV channels,TV anchors, newscasters(ARY,Danish,Badami,Express, Newsone,CNBC,Mujahid Brelvi,Samaa,Asma Shirazi, who play their devil,HMV,bootlickers & like cunning fox give favorable spin to every event to glorify MQM.Furthermore, the the live free TV speeches of Altaf Sb from London must be banned or charged retrospectively if
not .The conduct of Karachi TV channels and Dunya should be optimally curtailed since they apparently believe to rule Pakistan through MQM who they project as 'mesihas'.

  3. The Habits die hard. MQM will never change. It may have members in the parliament and the provincial assembly but its politics is played on the streets rather than in the parliament or Sindh Assembly.

Blood on the streets is the life line of MQM.

You would have noticed that the situation in Karachi was returning to normalcy which was seen in the footages of TV channels. The citizens are fed up with the violence which has crippled their life. But this is something which makes MQM uneasy so it unleashes bizarre allegations like disconnection of phone lines of Nine Zero.

I am sure the press conference in the wee hours of Monday was seen by many. Anis Kaimkhani had audacity to threaten of 'dire consequences if someone cast an evil eye on Nine Zero'. AJK was just an excuse to come out of the coalition similarly accusations like disconnection of telephone lines and meeting with Afaq Hussain are just excuses to create a law and order situation.

If Asif Zardari had not succumbed to many episodes of blackmailing by Altaf Hussain the situation would not have reached to the point which Sindh is in today. Anis Kaimkhani taunted the government about the resignation of Sindh governor and the ministers. The post of governor of Sindh should be filled as soon as possible.

In the end, I would like to mention the role of TV channels. I am inclined to believe that these channels appear to be duty bound to support to the thugs not because of the fact that they want to but they have been so much terrorised that they have to cover all rubbish press conferences as we saw at early hours of this morning when Anis Kaimkhani was frothing in his mouth with venom.
