PC on load-shedding

The deputy chairman, Planning Commission of Pakistan while addressing a select gathering of IBA students in Karachi has stated that load-shedding has improved in Pakistan.

Is the gentleman, who has recently retired from IMF, trying to fool the people of Pakistan, who are witnessing the worse electricity shortages in their living memory? Perhaps, the load-shedding has decreased in the ministers enclave in Islamabad, or the posh locality in Lahore where his late father, a senior CSP officer got allotted a house in GOR adjacent to Punjab Club.

It seems the gentleman has really got his act together and quickly learnt from his political masters. Unfortunately, he does not realise that you can fool some of the people, but not all the people all the time.

This gentleman a few months ago stated that he would ensure that the board of directors of state corporations will be restructured. Those who work in Steel Mills (PSM), Pakistan International Airline, PIA Investments, Suni Northern Gas Pipeline Limited, Oil and Gas Development Corporation, Pakistan State Oil, Suni Southern Gas Pipeline Limited, etc know the facts, that only cronies or others with a more controversial conflict of interest have been put in place and not on merit.

  1. PAKISTAN HAS NOT BENEFITTED FROM THE APPOINTMENT OF DEPUTY CHAIRMAN PLANNING COMMISSION WITH THE LIKES OF M.M.AHMED, SHOAIB MOHD, OR NADEEM UL HAQ, WHO HAVE NO STAKES IN THIS COUNTRY. WHAT PLANNING CAN BE DONE WITHOUT GENERATING ELECTRICITY OR STOPPING THE FLIGHT OF CAPITAL AND HUMAN RESOURCES.
