Some 300 homeless people of Islamabad have submitted an application to Chief Justice Supreme Court requesting him to cancel the huge plots in the proposed Park Enclave Scheme and direct CDA to allot the land to shelter less people by converting it to plots of five marlas each.
A citizen of federal capital Hafiz Muhammad Siddiq put forward the application under signature of some 300 homeless people in which it is pleaded that first CDA should allot the residential plots to all homeless natives of the city before allotting them to those people which settled here after migrating from other cities.
The application said that no new sector was opened in Islamabad for the last 20 years. CDA while violating master plan of the city, gave the acquired land to different private housing societies, which have enhanced the rates so much high that the poor inhabitant of Islamabad were forced to live in rented houses.
He further stated that the monthly rent of five marlas house in Islamabad is 40,000 to 50,000 whereas the rent of two rooms flat is Rs 15000 to 20,000 per month , which the salaried class cant not afford.
The application also stated that recently CDA has announced to launch Park Enclave in which some 700 plots are available at a cost of Rs 120 million each. It shows that CDA is preparing the accommodation to apex class only, which is injustice to poor man. The applicants appealed Chief Justice to direct CDA for giving the land to the poor on 20 years installments so that about 12000 shelter less people might get their homes.
