Religious faction protests against Tehmina Durrani

The Anjuman Talba-e-Islam (ATI) held a protest against Tehmina Durrani for writing a book against pirs titled Blasphemy.
Protesters chanted slogans against the writer and called her a foreign agent, illiterate and a fake writer. They also demanded the federal government to cancel Tehmina’s citizenship. Blasphemy is inspired by a true story of a woman who is wife of a pir and gets sexually and physically abused during her relationship. Separately, the action committee for recovery of the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) shoes held a protest in front of the Lahore Press Club demanding arrest of the thieves and recovery of the shoes. Protesters said that Punjab Auqaf Department Director General Tahir Raza Bokhari and other officials should also be included in the investigation.
