After reviving commissionerate system and old police set up in the province, the PPP-led provincial government’s next step would be to transfer the administrative control of universities and educational boards from the Governor’s office to the Chief Minister’s.
“The people of Sindh would be happy to listen to good news, as the control over universities and [educational] boards will be transferred to the provincial government,” said PPP’s Senior Education and Literacy Minister Pir Mazharul Haq on Saturday.
Talking with a delegation at his office, he said the Education Department is going to improve its functioning by the early transfer of control of universities and boards to the Sindh government, which would further streamline the working and functioning of the institutions.
Haq also said that the PML-F by disassociating itself from the opposition and announcing sitting on treasury benches has fulfilled the aspirations of the people of Sindh and will have far-reaching effects in provincial politics.
“The aspirations of the people have been addressed by the restoration of Hyderabad and Karachi in their previous administrative structures,” he said, and congratulated the residents of both cities in extending cooperation in accomplishing the very task.
It is worth mentioning that the provincial government has recently also taken control of the City District Government Karachi and the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board.
