Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that the Kalma Chowk flyovers shall be completed in record time by August 14 and the earth-breaking of the underpasses shall be started on the same day with the project due to be completed within 90 days. The Punjab CM was talking to media after a meeting to review work progress at the Kalma Chowk project on Sunday.
Senator Pervaiz Rashid was also present on the occasion. The Chief Minister said that Kalma Chowk project was started on April 15 and shall be complete within a record period of four months. He said that Cavalry Ground project was completed in eight and a half months during his last tenure but Kalma Chowk project will be completed in half the time compared to that project and performance of officers of the department and the construction team is commendable.
He said that the Thokar Niaz Baig project could not be completed in three years in the previous government while the Lahore-Kasur Road project had also been ruined by corruption and could not be completed in five years. Earlier, Secretary Communication & Works, Maj (retd) Azam Salman gave a detailed briefing regarding the Kalma Chowk. He said that portraits of the Tehrik-e-Pakistan leaders shall be displayed at the underpasses.
