Two ‘bandits’ killed in ‘encounter’

Two alleged bandits were killed in an encounter with police late Thursday night in the Shershah area within the limits of Pak Colony police. Pak Colony SHO Shabih Ahmed said a police party had intercepted four suspects riding on two motorcycles near the Shershah scrap market but they opened fire at the police.
After an encounter, two alleged robbers Faqeer Mohammad, son of Abdul Rehman, and Kareem Baloch, son of Mehrab, were killed while their suspected accomplice later identified as Mir Mohammad was arrested by the police but one suspect managed to flee.
The police have recovered three pistols, three magazines and two motorcycles and started further investigations, the SHO added. Husband kills wife: A woman was strangled by her husband on Friday in Malir Khokharabad within the Khokarabad police station limits. Police said that Rashid Husain strangled his 31-year-old wife Asfa Perveen at their home near Baitullah Imambargah.
The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities while the police have arrested the alleged accused.
