NOC required to construct mosques: A no objection certificate (NOC) from a selected committee of clerics would be necessary for construction of a mosque in future and clerics from all schools of thought must play their role in keeping peace in their respective areas. These views were expressed by District Coordination Officer (DCO) Lahore Ahad Cheema in a meeting of District Peace Committee (DPC) on Saturday. Addressing the meeting, the DCO asked the religious authorities to prohibit the use of improper language, loudspeakers and spread of provocative literature at all religious rituals in Lahore to maintain peace in the provincial capital. Cheema sought cooperation from clerics in identifying elements spreading religious hatred.
