The Awami National Party (ANP)-Sindh on Friday demanded constituting a judicial commission on killings in the Qasba Colony and other areas of the city, as during three days of violence, 25 office-bearers and workers of the ANP-Sindh have been murdered.
This was said by ANP-Sindh President Shahi Syed during a press conference at his residence on Friday. “Three political parties of the city had agreed to ensure peace in the city and remove party flags and slogans which began recently. All of sudden what has happened? Everyone is surprised and upset,” he said. “Who will tell the motives behind attacking passenger buses in Orangi Town,” asked Syed, adding that attempts to destabilise Karachi are like destabilising Pakistan. “Pakhtuns are ready to surrender weapons for restoration of peace in the city because guns are not the solution to the problem of Karachi.”
Advising his workers to remain calm, the ANP leader said that every citizen is upset of the horrible situation in Karachi as innocent people are being killed for the past three years on the name of Urdu- and Pashto-speaking lines. “Rehman Malik claims that Taliban have reached Karachi. If this is the case, then he must inform about their locations to the ANP.” Syed said the Sindh government has failed to restore law and order in the city and there seems to be no writ of the law.
