‘Services of teaching cadre staff commendable

Services of teaching cadre staff of the Punjab Health Department regarding medical education are commendable, Senior Advisor to the Punjab CM, Zulfiqar Khosa said on Saturday. He made these remarks while meeting a delegation of the Punjab Medical Teachers Association. Khosa said that the Punjab government will solve problems of medical teachers regarding regularisation and departmental promotion on a priority basis.
Giving a briefing, Dr Tahseen said that senior registrars of teaching cadre, assistant professors and associate professors are facing departmental delay in their promotion and service regularisation. He said that despite approval of the summary by the Punjab CM and clear orders of the Lahore High Court (LHC), matters are pending for many years due to which teaching staff of the health department is perturbed.
Tahseen urged the health department to ensure early implementation of the approved summary and LHC’s orders. Khosa said that the Punjab government is serious in resolving problems of doctors and a comprehensive package of Rs 5 billion for officers and officials of all categories of the health department has been presented. He said that demands of the association are genuine and he will bring these demands into notice of the CM for early action.
