Pakistan Army continues helping flood survivors

The Pakistan Army has handed over two complexes of 78 houses of over Rs 10 million to the flood affectees in the districts of Sindh in continuation of its support to the survivors of the flood of last year.
On Thursday, in continuation of humanitarian support, the Pakistan Army handed over a project of 59 houses, including a school, a children’s park and a mosque, to the flood survivor families in the villages of Katey Jakhran and Ismail Memon in Thatta district.
Similarly, another complex of 19 houses, including a mosque, a boys’ school and four water supply points, was handed over to the survivors at the village of Abdullah Pusio in Dadu district. According to details, a division located in Hyderabad under 5 Corps Karachi has undertaken a number of housing projects in flood-hit districts of Dadu and Thatta.
So far 64 and 270 families of a total of three villages in Dadu and Thatta districts respectively have been given newly constructed houses along with a number of mosques, schools, basic health units and water supply points.
It is to be noted here that the Pakistan Army, after rendering invaluable services during the devastating floods of 2010 in terms of rescue, relief and providing humanitarian assistance to the internally displaced persons, has now diverted its efforts towards the rehabilitation of the displaced people.
