The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) and the All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA)-Sindh have reached an accord whereby gas supply to filling stations will be suspended from 9:00 AM on July 11 until the midnight of July 12. In a meeting between the SSGC and the APCNGA-Sindh at the SSGC head office, both parties agreed to mutually respect the newly agreed scheduled.
The fresh scheduled disconnection of gas supply to CNG filling stations for two days was made under the earlier decision of the government and the cut in gas supply from the Kadanwari Gas Field for annual turn-around. The gas field in Badin district would shut down from July 8 to July 17 for maintenance.
The closure of the field would cause reduction of 200mmcfd in the SSGC system. The SSGC has also requested the industrial sector to voluntarily decrease usage of gas by 35 percent.
