One of the greatest strengths of the PPP is its secular and liberal tendencies that thrive on the basic priciple of democracy. That is why the PPP is at the forefront of the ongoing struggle for a liberal and democratic Pakistan. Far reaching constitutional reforms, provincial autonomy and the supremacy of judiciary are no doubt some of the major achievements of the present PPP government.
It also seems to be committed to improve the economic conditions of the country. It would, though, be only wise if the government takes into account the basic rules of democracy; rule of majority, direct representation and the rule of law. Otherwise, we will keep looking for democracy, and never find it.
