The Met Office predicted the second spell of monsoon rains from today (Thursday), likely to produce scatter rains and thundershowers in the country for two to three days. According to the Met Office, mainly dry weather is expected over most parts of the country, however, a few thunderstorms with rain are likely to occur over Bhawalpur, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir today. Thundering and light rain may also occur over Mirpur Khas and Hyderabad divisions today.
More monsoon currents are likely to penetrate in the upper parts of the country and Lower Sindh from Friday which would cause widespread thunderstorms with isolated heavy rains over the North and Northeast Punjab including Lahore, Lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir.
Scattered rains with isolated heavy downpours are also expected in Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir from Thursday to Saturday. The maximum temperature recorded in Lahore on Wednesday was 36 degrees Celsius whereas the minimum temperature was 27 degrees Celsius. Humidity level was 75 percent in the morning and 57 percent in the evening.
