We are the students of the Karachi University and want to bring the attention of the concerned authorities and university staff towards an important issue. We want to participate in the convocation going to be held soon in the university but our efforts seem to have gone in vain. We applied a month ago to get the invitation of upcoming convocation as it is one of the most precious moments of any student’s life when he/she receives the degree upon completion of 3-4 years of education in an alma mater.
Many students were shocked when the staff refused to issue them invitation by saying that they have not received the final marks sheets of many students, while also accepting the truth that we have successfully passed our exams and are entitled to receive our degrees.
We have been asking the staff for many days to confirm from the concerned departments but they are showing complete indifference. The Semester Cell is also responsible for causing mental stress to the students as it is their sole responsibility to issue marks sheets on time. We request the VC Karachi University to take action against the staff, including the concerned departments for not releasing our marks sheets on time. VC is also requested to make sure the immediate issuance of convocation’s invitations to the students so that we all can enjoy the precious moments of university life rather than regretting on missing them just for the ignorance of lazy staff.
