Former Test cricketer Shoaib Muhammad has urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to select Karachi’s young batsman, Rameez Raja Junior in the national team. He believes that Rameez has done enough to stake his claim for selection and the PCB selection committee should pick him for the national team. The right-handed top order batsman impressed one and all with a couple of brilliant knocks in the semi-final and final of the recently concluded Faysal Bank Super Eight T20 Cup. He scored an unbelievable 97 innings against Sialkot Stallions in the semi-final. Shoaib, who himself is a former selector, believes that the selection committee should give the chance to a youngster when he is in prime form and Rameez has shown that in the T20 tournament. He added that the young batsman deserves a chance at the International stage. The former opener said: “Rameez is ready to represent Pakistan and this is the best time to put him in the team, as he is going through a purple patch. His consistent performances show that his batting displays have no fluke and he has the potential to excel.”
