Federal Information Minister Firdous Aashiq Awan has said that PML-N/MQM coalition was a good omen for democracy, as a strong opposition guaranteed the stability of a system.
Reacting to the decision of PML-N and MQM to play the part of joint opposition, on Wednesday, she said the opposition should recommend and evolve a strong conducive agenda, while the government would seriously consider implementing it.
She added the opposition should function within its legal jurisdiction, and also pointed out that earlier alliances for democracy were not conducive.
She said during the ongoing democratic tenure, no issues of political vendetta occurred, nor would the practice would ever be put to use.
She also said that unity among political parties guaranteed the continuity of democracy in the country.
There may be a good omen or not but there is definitely an unprincipled politics being pursued by the PML-N whose leader Mian Nawaz Sharif was until recently following a policy of calling spade a spade and was quite rightly very apprehensive of MQM's thuggish policies. It appears that leaders' memories are short lived. Only some weeks ago Mr Nisar who was nicknamed by Waseem Akhtar as Mr Bean was narrating catalogue of atrocities commited by fascist MQM and similarly Waseem Akhtar went low to the extreme and was incredilbly foul mouthed against Mian Nawaz family.
Mr Nawaz Sharif has been antagonised by Mr Asif Zardari. This does not mean that Mr Nawaz Sharif should abandon a principled policy which has been steadfasrly following.
I was very upset to see that PML-N has once again embarked upon a policy of opposition for sake of opposition. PML-N should realise that embracing MQM in its fold will inevitably lead to deterioration of situation of Karachi. I just can't understand how Mr Nawaz Sharif could forget 12th May carnage, burning of advocates and target killings.
The whole Country is burning and these ppl are busy playing politics!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lottaizam….
