More than 18 armed men late on Tuesday night attempted to remove some legal owners from their property, located opposite to the Punjab Assembly on The Mall, but left the scene after the arrival of police.
Qasim Hayyat owns the said property, measuring two kanals and four marlas, where the family runs a furniture workshop, Hayyat Sons.
He claimed that a few months back, Dr Amjad asked them to sell the aforesaid piece of land to him but he became furious after they rejected his offer and started harassing them by using different tactics.
He said around seven men, including Ejaz reached the place at noon and tried to occupy the premises but they left the place after police reached the spot.
They made another attempt in the evening. This time too the intruders opted to flee after they called the police for help. But they made the final last attempt to occupy the place at around 10pm when more than a dozen armed men reached the place.
He said the men thrashed the labourers and ordered them to leave the building immediately.
Qasim said a watchman, Ramzan, informed them about the incident but the intruders again fled the scene before the arrival of police.
The lawyer of Hayyat Sons said his clients had been repeatedly threatened with dire consequences and the attackers damaged the boundary walls of the building.
