Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar on Tuesday said Pakistan was making headway in taking confidence building measures with respect to the relationship with India but the restoration of complete normalcy in the bilateral ties would take more time.
Hina, who is expected to be elevated to a full-fledged minister ahead of her visit to New Delhi later in the month, expressed these views while taking to journalists at the Foreign Service Academy. “The relations with India are improving and I hope my upcoming visit to India will be fruitful,” she said.
To a question on Indian Premier Manmohan Singh’s recent statement that Pakistan should “leave Kashmir alone”, she said Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani had already spelt out Pakistan’s position on the core dispute of Kashmir.
