Holding of Lesbian, Gay ‘Pride Celebration’ by US envoy condemned

Religious scholars and leaders of various religious political parties have strongly condemned holding of lesbian, gay bisexual and transgender (LGBT) ‘Pride Celebration’ at US Embassy.
Jamaat-I-Islami Ameer Munawar Hassan condemning the event said the US Embassy, by holding such a controversial gathering, has violated the rules and laws of land, so the government should act accordingly.
Jamaat-e-Islami has submitted an adjournment motion in the Senate Secretariat against the holding of function of gays and lesbians at the US embassy in Islamabad.
Naib Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Senator Prof. Khurshid Ahmad has also written a letter addressed to the Prime Minister and the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs condemning in strongest terms the shocking report about the US Embassy function to honour the gay and lesbians in Islamabad.
“A bunch of Pakistanis were especially invited to the ceremony obviously to glamourise these develish traits to which even the Western society is generally averse”, he pointed out. “Such obnoxious activities constitute a cultural terrorism and ideological attack on Pakistani society and its religious and cultural moorings”, Prof. Khurshid stressed.
“Since when foreign missions have been given the liberty to impose their perverted values on our society? “, he asked the Prime Minister and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. Prof. Khurshid requested the Prime Minister to take serious notice of this moral and cultural attack on Pakistan and its society
Religious scholar Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman has urged the government to look into the matter and make the US Embassy administration to explain the purpose behind this move.
The political parties condemned the event in the strongest term and urged the government to ensure that such nonsensical and immoral things were not repeated anywhere in the country.
