Relatives of a girl, who died at Sheikh Zayed Hospital after taking acid to commit suicide, thrashed a doctor for not providing her with proper aid on Monday.
The deceased was identified as 19-year-old Naureen, a resident of Hafizabad. Police said that Naureen, after scuffling with her parents, took acid due to which she went unconscious. Her parents rushed her to a local hospital, whose administration referred the girl to Sheikh Zayed Hospital where Naureen died.
Family of the deceased held doctors responsible for her death and claimed that they showed negligence while providing aid to the deceased girl. Naureen’s family thrashed the on duty doctor but due to interference of Sheikh Zayed Hospital Chairman Zafar Iqbal, the matter was settled later and the body was handed over to the family without autopsy.
Separately, a young motorcyclist died when he slipped from a speeding motorcycle and hit a footpath in the Shahdara Police Station precincts.
The deceased was identified as Muhammad Sohail, a resident of Ali Park Area. Police said that the deceased was going somewhere and as he reached near the Old Ravi Bridge, he lost control of his bike and slipped. As a result, the boy hit a footpath due to which he died instantly. Some local residents informed police, which reached the spot and handed over the body of the deceased to his family without autopsy.
Also on Monday, five unidentified bodies were found from different areas of the provincial metropolis. In the first incident, a 65-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances near the Qutbuddin Aebak shrine in the New Anarkali Police Station precincts. A 50-year-old unidentified man was found dead near Mominpura in the Baghbanpura Police Station precincts. In another incident, a 70-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances from the Kahna Police Station precincts.
A 25-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances near the Beadon Road, Qila Gujjar Singh Police Station precincts. In another incident, a-70-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Phase-5, Defence-B Police Station precincts.
