CNG stations’ closure irks citizens

The government’s decision to keep the CNG supply suspended for three days a week has irked common citizens and transporters alike, as they are facing great difficulties with an additional financial burden of using the expensive petrol. The suspension schedule came into effect at 6 am on Monday in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, and Multan regions, resulting in closure of all the CNG stations in cities. People said they were expecting lowered CNG price but instead they were deprived of the essential commodity. The CNG station owners and transporters are protesting against the move and have threatened to go on an indefinite strike. All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) President Ghiyas Paracha said the three-day suspension would affect their business badly as the increase in the CNG price was also being mulled.
