After Economic Coordination Committee’s decision to increase the gas holidays at CNG stations to three days a week, our Prime Minister has announced to decrease the prices of petroleum products for three rupees only. What a great compensation! This decrease, in fact, was due to lower global oil prices but our honourable PM has linked this decrease to gas price hike. Bravo!
We, the Pakistani, are now sick of this type of jugglery of figures. It would be better if our government increases petroleum prices to Rs 500 per litre, just as it wishes to do. I am sure, no one in Pakistan would dare come out on the streets against this decision and then there would be no hurdle to increase cabinet size and its perks.
