A man and a woman were found dead under mysterious circumstances from two different areas of the city on Sunday. A 40-year-old woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances from the Hanjarwal police precincts.
The deceased, yet to be identified, was lying dead near Canal View Society. Some passers by spotted the body and informed the police.
Hanjarwal police moved the body to city morgue for autopsy. Police said they would only be able to say any thing about the cause of death once the autopsy report arrives. Similarly a 40-year-old man was found dead from Bird Market in the Bhatti Gate police precincts on Sunday. The deceased, yet to be identified, was lying dead on the footpath. Some passers by spotted the body and informed the police.
Police moved the body to the city morgue for autopsy. Bhaati Gate police suspected that the deceased was a drug addict who died of overdose. Separately, a man sustained injuries when he offered resistance in a robbery in the Mughalpura police precincts on Sunday. The man was identified as Akhtar Khan, a resident of Noor Colony. He was on his bike on the way somewhere when two unidentified bike-riders intercepted him and tried to snatch his bike, and shot him when he resisted.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital where his condition was stated to be out of danger. The victim had also managed to subdue one of his attackers even after he was shot. The accused robber was handed over to local police.
