The wild guy

We, as a society, have reduced to such a low that we have started accepting wild talk on our TV channels, newspapers and in public debates, which is to our amusement being accepted as a norm. In the 8pm-9pm talk-show by an eminent anchor-journalist on May 17, Imran Khan, the only guest, rebuked a retired army officer and disdainfully rejected the idea of sitting with “such a…man.” Those who watched the program would supplement my words of protest to the management of that private TV channel as such programs have turned into influencing or coercive tools to our policy and decision makers.

One is not against Imran Khan. The PTI chairman is regarded as a straight and honest man. There is a huge lobby in political and social circles that wants him at the helm of affairs. They want to see the country run by the rule of law, to see justice dispensed, income and resources equally distributed; health and education without discrimination provided, etc. But the cricketer-turned politician has no enough vote-bank. The only edge he has is his agreement with the top TV channel and his anti-America slogan.

I am sure Imran Khan is a kind of person who would not say sorry because he thinks he is right, and to him what is right is right. The TV channel management is using him as a card against the government for its demands of the payment of taxes and other charges that this particular channel has not been paying for a long time.
