PML-N has assigned responsibilities to its leaders for making direct or back door contacts with other parties being represented in parliament for forging Grand Opposition Alliance (GOA).
As per report of private TV channel party leaders would go for consultations with Jamaate-e-Islami (JI), PML like minded, MQM and PPP (Sherpao) at the first phase and a report about the outcome of their direct and back door contacts would be presented to Mian Nawaz Sharif.
Ishaq Dar has been tasked with forging contacts with MQM but no decision has however been made so far to whom the task of entering into consultation with other parties would be entrusted.
Javed Hashmi and Raja Zafar ul Haq have been given the task of contacting JI while Iqbal Zafar Jhagra and Ahsan Iqbal have been assigned the responsibility of making consultation with PML (like minded) group. However any decision to contact Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has not been taken so far. Any leader at local level mat be entrusted this task
On the other hand JI leader Liaqat Baloch told no contact had so far been made with JI in connection with GOA. “Formation of GOA is a right step but we will have to see the prevailing situation that the party which has been playing the role of friendly opposition so far with President Zardari will give what guarantee that what type of alliance PML-N will forge with us”, he added.
MQM leader Waseem Akhtar said if any alliance was formed for national interest then there was nothing wrong in it.
