Motorway police round up 21 men, seize goods worth millions

The National Highways & Motorway Police (NH&MP) N-5 Central on Monday claimed to have arrested 21 criminals. Police said they also recovered illegal weapons, snatched mobile phones, a motorcycle, stolen goods including precious copper wire, cattle and other valuables. Police also unveiled that they reunited a lost child with his family and put out a fire that could have destroyed over 40,000 litres of oil during last few days.
According to statement issued on Monday, the NH&MP patrol officers arrested Manzoor, Qurban Ali, Nasir, Khurram, Umar, Asif, Allah Ditta, Zafar, Naveed, Manzoor, Anwar, Nasir, Naeed, Fahim, Wasim, Hassan and Shaukat and recovered huge amount of arms, ammunition, mobile phones and stolen copper goods and cattle worth millions. The suspects were later handed over to police of precincts concerned.
Similarly the officers saved over 40,000 litres of oil from being burnt by timely extinguishing a fire that an oil tanker (PLS-155) had caught. They also helped 7-year-old Sajawal S/o Gulzar of Ahmad Pur East reunite with his family. NH&MP Inspector General Zafarullah Khan appreciated the efforts of patrol officers and awarded certificates of commendation to them.
