The Islami Jamiat-e-Talba (IJT) on Monday organised a protest in front of the US Consulate to protest against the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) rights support function held at the US Embassy in Islamabad. IJT members were carrying placards and chanting slogans against the US. Protesters said that after its political and military interference in the region, the US is now trying to draw social differences in the country. They said that the “gay rights protecting party” held at the US Consulate is against Islamic and moral values. Protesters said that after the Hadood Ordinance, useless matters were promoted by the US, which shows its intentions. They said that the US wants to create social misbalance in society, which will not be allowed.
