Gilani for a peaceful Afghanistan

Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Saturday said Pakistan sincerely wanted peace and stability in Afghanistan and would extend all possible support to an Afghan-led reconciliation peace process. Talking to Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir who called on him at the PM’s House to apprise him of his recent visit to Afghanistan for the Trilateral Core Group meeting, the PM said Pakistan was committed to creating an environment conducive for meaningful negotiations leading to peace and stability in Afghanistan.
The foreign secretary informed the prime minister that he also called on President Hamid Karzai who conveyed his good wishes for President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani. He also informed him of his discussion with the Afghan leadership on the bilateral agreements on a joint commission between Pakistan and Afghanistan after the Trilateral Core Group meeting.
