Four FIA officers, who had conducted investigation into the NICL scam case along with FIA DG Zafar Qureshi and arrested Moonis Elahi, have been transferred to remote areas, a notification issued by the FIA headquarters stated on Saturday. Their transfer orders had been issued following the cancellation of transfer orders of Qureshi by the SC.
Deputy Director Javed Shah has been transferred from Lahore to Dera Ismail Khan, Assistant Director Muhammad Ahmad to Turbat, Assistant Director Khalid Anees to Peshawar and Inspector Muhammad Sarwar to Gwadar. Sources said the officers had been directed to relinquish their charges immediately and report to their new places of posting.
Meanwhile, Zafar Qureshi took back the charge of the investigation into the NICL financial scam. After retaking charge, he has written a letter to the director general to cancel the transfer orders of his team mates.
