Khyber Pakhtunkhawa government has called 10 army platoons for threat of floods in the province, official sources said on Sunday.
According to sources, the provincial government has taken the decision in light of heavy monsoon rains predictions in the province. According to plan, army platoons would be deployed in 13 districts including Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera, Laki Marwat for rescue works.
The provincial government also advised police, health and irrigation department to be high alert for any emergency. The DPOs and DCOs of these districts have also been advised to monitor the situation during rains season.
