‘District courts dispose of 96634 cases in five months’

The administration of Lahore High Court (LHC) has said the session courts and civil courts of Lahore disposed of 96634 cases in five months from January 2011 to May which shows the high standard of the working of the courts in Lahore.
A report was issued in this regard fter Lahore High Court Registrar Sohail Nasir held two-hour long meeting with over 35 court reporters over tea at LHC library auditorium at 11am on Saturday. The registrar, quoting a report issued by District and Session judge Lahore, said 96634 cases disposed off in last five months in Lahore alone.
The report said that the Session Courts Lahore disposed of case in last five months include session cases (murder) 307, session cases (Other) 10, STA cases 05, Hudood cases 157, narcotics cases 444, Habeas corpus cases 672, harassment cases 2191, registration of cases 10042, insurance cases 16, civil appeals 1473, civil revisions 433, criminal appeals 80, criminal revisions 332, original suits 174, bail petitions 11751, illegal dispossession cases 151 and others 3385. The total comes to 31623 disposed cases.
The Civil Courts Lahore disposed off cases include regular civil suits 19005, family cases 6957, succession applications 1288, execution petitions 956, rent cases 729, guardian cases 1426, insolvency cases 18, small claims & minor offences 13, inquiry cases 28, land acquisition cases 23, pauper 1, objection petitions 460, other cases 5314. The disposed cases total at 36218.
Criminal courts Lahore disposed off cases include section-30 cases 2697 and 1st class cases 26096. Criminal courts disposed a total of 28793 cases. This totals to show that 96634 cases were disposed off while contested work included session courts 6632, civil courts 3193 and magisterial courts 2427.
