The worsening gas shortage is deepening the crisis across the country as a ban has been placed on issuance of connections to new settlements and industrial and commercial consumers, reported a private TV channel.
According to the Sui Northern Gas Company Limited (SNGPL) sources, Lahore is currently facing a shortfall of 500 cubic feet which is expected to reach 1000 cubic feet in winter. The ban has resulted in pending a decision on 5,500 applications for new domestic connections and another 50,000 for industrial and commercial usage.
