Pakistan Muslim League-N chief Nawaz Sharif on Friday said consensus for a national agenda was the need of the hour, a private TV channel reported.
Addressing a meeting of the party’s coordination committee, Nawaz said the PML-N had managed to bring an end to the dictatorship of Pervez Musharraf with the help of the people. He said strong democratic parties in Pakistan were the key to the country’s stability and decisions should be made after consultation with all stakeholders.
The election results for district presidents and general secretaries of PML-N Sindh province were announced in the meeting. The list of newly-elected office-bearers was put before the meeting of provincial coordination committee.
Nawaz congratulated them and said the organisational set up coming forth as a result of election process was a practical acknowledgement of the sacrifices of the workers.
Zahid Shah Mir Khan was elected President and Nisar Shah general secretary from District East, Karachi division.
Babu Sarfraz Jatoi was elected president and Aftab Ahmad Boghio general secretary from Larkana district, Ali Raza Chandio president and Abdul Rauf Sheikh general secretary from Qamber district Shahdadkot, Ehsan Soomro president and Jalal Mazari general secretary from Kashmore Kandkot district, Deewan Boolchand president from Shikarpur district and Israr Ahmad Jakhrani president, Abdul Ghafoor Baluch general secretary and Ayaz Ahmad Lahooti senior vice president from Jacobabad district.
In Sukkar Division, Sarwar Latif was elected president and Imam Din Khoso as general secretary from Sukkar district, Abdul Majid Sheikh president and Sardar Ghulam Haider Pholpoto general secretary from Khairpur district and Manzoor Mughal president, Ismail Ahmad Korai general secretary and Sarfraz Qureshi senior vice president from Naushero Feroze district.
