A judicial magistrate remanded the Hindu priest, arrested over demanding sacrifice of three girls, to police custody for four days on Friday.
The investigation wing of the Mirpurkhas city police station had produced Khetomal in the court of civil judge and judicial magistrate I and the court granted his four-day remand asked by the police.
The police stated that the fake priest was apprehended by investigation town police in a raid on Thursday night from the limits of Dilber Maher police station on a tip-off.
A week ago, Sawai Bheel, a resident of Sial colony, had lodged a case under sections 418 (black magic), 506(ii), 337 Ai, 420, 504 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code with the town police, stating that he had three daughters but no son while his wife was again pregnant, so he met Khetomal and his colleague near the Dilor Stop, who asked him to give Rs 30,000 after which the priest will make his wife conceive him a son through black magic.
Sawai gave the priest Rs 30,000, after which he read something on his wife and daughters, but even after the completion of nine months, his wife gave birth to another daughter. When the victim demanded his money back, the fake priest issued threats of dire consequences and refused to return his money.
