The decomposed body of noted Baloch nationalist Abdul Ghaffar Langov was discovered in Lasbela district of Balochistan on Friday.
Langov went missing one-and-a-half year ago. Police said they were on routine patrolling in Gaddani area when they found a dead body dumped in an isolated area. They moved the body to a hospital for autopsy, after which the deceased was identified as Abdul Ghaffar Langov, Baloch nationalist and resident of Quetta.
Police said body had bullet wounds in the skull and marks of torture all over. Officials said the body had been handed over to the heirs after completing legal formalities. Langov, brother of senior National Party leader Niaz Baloch, was allegedly abducted by intelligence agencies from a hospital in Karachi in December 2009.
His family had been protesting for his and other missing persons’ release at a hunger strike camp set up outside the Quetta Press Club for the last three years. Langov’s family accused the intelligence agencies for his brutal murder. Voice for Baloch Missing Person President Nasrullah Baloch strongly condemned the killing of Langov and appealed to the international humanitarian organisations to take immediate notice of killing of Baloch missing persons.
He said Baloch missing persons were being killed and if pressure was not exerted on intelligence agencies, which had adopted the policy of kill and dump, the situation would become more serious. Baloch said the life of the remaining missing persons was in great danger and if prompt notice of these extrajudicial killings was not taken by international humanitarian organisations, all of them would meet the same fate.
