The All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) has requested the Punjab home minister and Inspector general of police to advise the concerned officials of North Cantonment police station to take immediate action on an FIR lodged by Syed Muhammad Munir Jilani, APNS finance secretary, against the theft of valuables worth over Rs 1,200,0000. The APNS said Jilani had lodged an FIR with the North Cantt police a week ago against a robbery at his house. The accused have been arrested and in police custody and have admitted to committing the robbery. But police investigation officers, Inspector Ghulam Abbas and Sub-Inspector Shahbaz Ahmed, though have recovered a major part of the stolen valuables, were now supporting the culprits and had not taken any action against the other three accused nominated in the FIR, the APNS said.
