The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) filed a petition in the Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) High Court on Friday against alleged rigging in the AJK elections and bogus voter lists, but the court returned the petition with some objections.
The petition was heard by a full bench, which ruled that it be filed again after it was amended. According to a private television channel, the petition was filed by lawyer Raja Sadaqat, alleging that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) won elections in LA 39, LA 40 and Rawalpindi Valley 4 and 5 through rigging.
The court was requested to order fresh polling in the constituencies in question and bar candidates who won these seats from taking oath. It was also requested to stop re-elections in LA 37 Valley 2 Lahore, commencing on July 10, and to rearrange voter lists.
