The Health Ministry has issued an illegal registration certificate to a private medical college (PMC) without prior approval of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council PMDC, said a Pakistan Medical Association spokesman on Thursday. The PMDC had rejected Al Razi Medical College’s registration case as the above mentioned private medical college did not have its own building and its own hospital. The Health Ministry, in violation of the PMDC regulations, issued a registration certificate to the PMC, allowing it to admit 100 students for MBBS. PMA office bearers strongly protested against the issuance of the registration certificate and demanded resignation from the top officials of the Health Ministry on this. The PMA spokesman said the federal government officials were working on the agenda to destroy medical education in the country and if the prime minister did not take notice of the issue, it would damage the reputation of Pakistan internationally.
The PMA has appealed to the Supreme Court of Pakistan chief justice to revoke the illegal registration of the college so that the future of the students can be saved.
i feel shame to say staff reporter doesnt know ABC of PMDC how they are working . last secretary was arrested on the allegation that he possesses the bunglows in islamabad where from he the money to purchase this property. the degrees of M.Phil of the univerties of sindh province are not recognised by PMDC but if grease applied on the palm of secretary the same degrees being recognised. if you have influence then every thing will be done. during first week of may one candidate qualified M.Phil from quadi azam university islamabad, her degree was recognised. since this university is not recognised by PMDC it is pointed out in the minutes of the meeting.A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF THE MEDICAL COLLEGE RECOGNISED DURING LAST TEN YEARS WILL REVEAL THAT HOW MUCH PMDC IS CRUPT.PMDC SHOULD BE GIVEN UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF HEC. MOREOVER MBBS is a bachelor degree such graduates should not be allowed to get admission in M.Phil.
